SpaceX launches an Israeli intelligence satellite into space
This was the 61st and final launch of the year for the Elon Musk-led company.
The company specialized in the field of astronautics and space flights, SpaceX, successfully launched an Israeli intelligence satellite into space during the night from Thursday to Friday. This was the 61st and final launch of the year for the US company led by Elon Musk. The EROS C-3 satellite mission launched aboard a Falcon 9 rocket at Vandenberg Space Station in California. Shortly after liftoff, the satellite’s deployment was confirmed.
Liftoff occurred at 11:38 p.m. from the launch site, and the Falcon 9 first stage returned for landing at the SpaceX launch pad about 8 minutes into the flight.
EROS C-3, abréviation of Earth Resources Observation Satellite C3, is a satellite d’observation of the Terre conçu pour permettre “aux organizations de défense et de renseignement de mener des operations en toute confidentialité”, selon son fabricant ImageSat International, base en Zionist entity. According to Spaceflight Now, it would have cost around $186 million (€174 million).
Elon Musk’s company is aiming for a record year in 2023 with at least 100 launches, mainly Falcon 9, a few Falcon Heavy flights as well as Starship test flights.
