Sergei Karelin is the second journalist to be arrested on these charges, after Konstantin Gabov, who was arrested on Saturday, and who sometimes cooperated with the Canadian news agency Reuters.

Sergei Karelin and Konstantin Gabov were accused of participating in the preparation of videos for the NavalnyLIVE YouTube channel of the team of Alexei Navalny, who died in prison in February under mysterious circumstances. His movement was rated as “extremist” By the courts, which exposes his collaborators and supporters to the risk of prosecution.
