The state of German professional football is currently one of the most talked about topics. Not only has the men’s national team been regularly embarrassed by early eliminations at recent major tournaments, the women’s team has now also been eliminated in the group stage for the first time at World Cups in Australia and New Zealand.

Many experts are calling not only for image reform, but also for tough decisions regarding personnel. After the German men’s recent friendly defeats, there have been calls for coach Hansi Flick to be sacked. Martina Vos-Tecklenburg, the women’s national team coach, has also come under intense criticism since the embarrassing World Cup exit.

Comedian Felix Lobrecht has now joined the debate over German bands – and revealed a clear opinion.

“I’m saying what we’re all thinking: We would have made headway with the One Love Band-Aid.”Maybe not entirely seriously, says Felix Lebrecht on his Instagram story. The comedian, also known for his podcast Mixed Hack, alludes to the rainbow armband, which FIFA has banned from being worn at the men’s World Cup in Qatar and now at the women’s tournament in Australia.

But Felix Lebrecht leans further out the window: He proposes himself as a national coach for both women and men as well as the under-21 teams. “As far as I know, they all played without the One Love Band, and something like that wouldn’t happen under my rule. Everyone gets the One Love Band,” the comedian explains his joking suggestion.

Felix Lebrecht calls for the firing of Germany coach Hansi Flick

But National Coach Lebrecht will take further action in his position. He explained: “First I will fire Flick and with Voss Teke I will have to have one or two love affairs. So choose me, your coach for Germany.”

What bothers him most is that “no one speaks badly” in the German Football Association. “They failed in the test games and didn’t even say it was all pig nonsense,” Felix Lebrecht literally talks about himself angrily. His conclusion: “Fleck has to go, it’s embarrassing. Why doesn’t anyone say that? Where’s the boat?” [Oliver Kahn, Ex-Vorstandsvorsitzender beim FC Bayern, Anm. d. Red.]All you need? He has time now.”

Felix Lubrecht also explains in his story about the German Football Association that he “had no idea about football.” But the comedian still has a strong opinion — even if he definitely expresses it with a wink.

On Sunday there was a scandal in the “ZDF Television Park”. The satirical party managed to infiltrate 200 members into the broadcast. They disrupted the course of the show several times, including jumping into a pool.
