The Witcher 3 Next Gen Update: Ray Tracing, Portrait Mode, 60fps… Details | Xbox One

Next generation update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt It was highly anticipated and we were eager to hear details of the planned improvements. CD Projekt RED has given us a 6pm appointment for a full presentation, here’s what to remember.

Two graphics modes on consoles

On PC, the game will take advantage of ray tracing with global lighting for light management, with ambient occlusion in ray tracing and new SSR effects. New graphic press called Ultra + Also shown in addition to DLSS and FSR.

On consoles, two graphics modes will be available. Like Cyberpunk 2077, players can choose to prefer frame rate with Performance mode at 60fps, or picture quality with ray tracing mode at 30fps. The latter, as on PCs, will provide global illumination and ambient closure in ray tracing as well as new SSR effects. FSR is also present on consoles to improve image quality.

The studio also promises better textures and various visual improvements, especially with regard to plants. It is also mentioned that it has integrated some of the most popular game modes, even on consoles. You’ll also enjoy easier controls when using tags.

Photo mode and camera options

In addition to the graphical improvements, players will be able to experience the new photo mode and camera options. This allows you to bring the camera closer to the character and you will have the option to activate it while fighting, on foot or on horseback, independently.

Several improvements to the map and interface are also expected. For example, it will now be possible to adjust the volume of subtitles as improvements have been mentioned in subtitles. These are also old bugs that were fixed by the studio in two specific missions.

Finally, as in Cyberpunk 2077, you can transfer your save through the platforms of your choice and thus play on both PC and consoles, thanks to cloud saves and cross-progression.
