The much-discussed Zehdenick is shown in the monastery barn

The Abbey Barn in Zehdenick is offering an intensive program this weekend. Among other things, the facility is participating for the first time in World Museum Day.

Zednik. Klosterscheune Zehdenick presents a rich program again this weekend. Friday evening, May 13, starts at 7 p.m. with a film followed by a discussion. The film will feature: “Sealed – Clique Against the Rest of the City” from 1999. Directors Andrea Schramm and Jana Matisse will be present, thus for the first time the film is put up in person for discussion in Zednik. For nearly 30 years he has been transporting people to Zehdenick. The film’s heroes and directors were considered contaminated. It is one of the few films made in and around Zehdenick that generated a stir and controversy in 1999. Nationally, Zehdenick’s image seemed to be ruined. Many Zehdenickers felt wrongly vilified. There was no discussion about what went wrong in the city, and not just here. That should be compensated now. Last but not least, Moritz von Oslar’s “Deutschboden” and Manja Präkels’ book, “When I Ate Cherry Schnaps with Hitler” were also created as a result of this film.
