The Beatles ‘rooftop party’ to be shown in Swiss IMAX cinemas – News – OutNow

The legendary one-hour concert of the British cult troupe will be shown on four Swiss IMAX screens from February 9-13, 2022. We’ll tell you where to go.

Three-part documentary series The Beatles: come back It is a real hit on Disney+. In nearly eight hours of play, director and producer Peter Jackson (Lord of the rings), how Paul Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr wrote and rehearsed new songs in January 1969.

The final epilogue of the documentary is the band’s legendary “rooftop party” on January 30, 1969. There were no tickets and no advertisement for this particular concert in advance. The four musicians simply took their instruments to the roof of the Apple Corps at 3 Savile Row in London and performed ten songs. Anyone who happened to be in the area at lunchtime that day got a very special musical experience, which The Simpsons also bowed to years later (see below).

This was the first gig hosted by Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, and Starr after three years away from the stage. Sadly, it was also the Beatles’ last live performance.
