It is just a few moments by elevator to the 9th floor. But on that June evening when everything suddenly changes, the journey feels like an eternity for Diana Dietrich. The past 943 days rush into it like a movie, repeating a drama in fast motion. Then the doors split apart, Diana rushes out, runs down the corridor of Grosshadern University Hospital and finally enters her son Daniel’s room. Doctors and nurses are standing in the room, some with tears in their eyes. At this point, Diana Dietrich doesn’t yet know why she’s definitely going back to the hospital. But then the sentence falls on it that she will never forget: “We have a heart for Daniel.”
