From science fiction to reality. Flying car designers are excited after this week’s world premiere.

A dream come true! The Klein Vision project, the Slovakian flying car project, carried out for the first time in history, this Tuesday, June 28, a flight between two cities separated by about a hundred kilometers.

AirCar is the name of this car that goes from airplane mode to car mode in 3 minutes. The car took 35 minutes to connect the city of Nitra in Slovakia to the capital Bratislava, which is half the time normally required.

While this was the 142nd landing of the flying vehicle at Bratislava Airport, this flight was the first connecting two cities. For Professor Klein, the concept’s inventor, “This theft opens a new era of transport vehicles. It opens a new class of transport and gives the individual the freedom that was originally ascribed to the automobile.” “The AirCar is no longer just a proof of concept; flying at 8,200 feet at 100 knots, it has made science fiction a reality,” added Anton Zajak, co-founder of Klein Vision.

The AirCar Prototype 1 is equipped with a 160-horsepower BMW engine, propeller and canopy, designers say. Cruising speed 190 km / h.

The second prototype, which will be nothing more than a pre-production car, will be equipped with a 300-horsepower engine and will receive EASA CS-23 certification.

This Prototype 2 should fly at a cruising speed of 300 km/h and have a range of 1,000 km.
