SEGA classic Streets of Rage becomes a John Wick movie
Following the huge success of the Sonic films, SEGA’s popular Streets of Rage should appear on the big screen as a cinematic adaptation in the future.
After releasing the sequel about Sega’s angry blue hedgehog in cinemas this year, the company is now apparently planning to turn another veteran into a movie: the dj2 Entertainment team is now producing a 2D brawler Streets of Rage movie. to blockbuster movies Manufacture.
The video game script will be written by writer and film producer Derek Kolstad. He is also the creator of the John Wick series starring Keanu Reeves.
Although the Streets of Rage franchise has been around since 1991, the fourth and newest part of the series was only released in 2020 for PC, consoles, and consoles. It seems that the series is far from dead and should now live in movie form.
The release date, the cast, or even the details about the plot aren’t known yet, but we can definitely expect a gritty, action-packed adaptation with plenty of hits and a nice shallow melee.
The video game itself revolves around a group of powerful former law enforcement officers who fight for justice and against criminal organizations in the fictional American city of Wood Oak City – of course in a direct confrontation with bare fists.
SEGA’s Sonic movie series is also set to go on to produce a third film, SEGA has already confirmed. After the appearance of Knuckles and Tails in the sequel, you can certainly expect other well-known characters from the world of the lightning-fast hedgehog in the next part.
