Rugby: Thierry Dusautoire will be inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside Dan Carter and Brian Habana

Another tribute to Thierry Dusutoire. World Rugby announced this Tuesday the next induction of the former French XV captain into the Hall of Fame. The former third-rower will therefore join some of his illustrious predecessors such as Fabien Bellos, Jean-Pierre Rives, Serge Blanco and Philippe Sella. “Thierry Dusautoire, a fearsome player and iconic captain of the French XV, is inducted into the World Rugby Hall of Fame,” the international body wrote.

Four more rugby legends will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the same time as Thierry Dusautoire: New Zealander Dan Carter, Australian George Smith, Argentine Juan Martin Hernandez and South African Brian Habana. There will now be 166 of them in this prestigious circle of giants of the sport.

During his career, Thierry Dusautoire has received many prestigious individual awards. In 2011, he was named the best player in the world by the IRB (International Rugby Board). He played 80 matches with the French national team and won the 2010 Six Nations Championship by achieving the Grand Slam title. It also reached the World Cup final in 2011, losing to New Zealand. Dan Carter, who was also introduced during this year 2023, was also in the opposite camp, even if he was injured in the first matches of the competition.
