The leaders of Racing 92 will be aiming hard for the post World Cup.
According to RMC Sport, Ile-de-France club recruiters want to recruit opening New Zealand international Beauden Barrett for the World Cup finals.
In fact, the Blacks player could have been shown to Racing 92.
Discussions are said to be ongoing between the Racing 92 leaders and the player’s agent.
Racing 92 won’t be really insensitive to Bewden-Barrett’s profile, especially since Scotland international Russell should leave Ile-de-France next summer.
However, Racing will have to take out the checkbook in hopes of recruiting a player of the caliber of Bewden Barrett. Remember, Racing 92 knows how to recruit very big players as it did with Dan Carter in 2015.
Should the relationship break down, Racing 92 could switch to Purdue-based Matthew Gallibert, who was under contract with UBB until June 2025.
The 23-year-old international with 17 caps, who also changed agents recently, already piqued Ciel et Blanc’s interest last year before he finally extended in very good conditions.
As a reminder, Racing 92 will also feature Clermontois winger Damien Benaud as well as Fijian international Khosua Toisova.
