New Zealand 1000 Guineas winner King’s Rose produced a Group Three winner in Japan over the weekend.
Satono Arthur, by Deep Impact, took out the Epsom Cup to record the fourth win of his 11-start career. He had previously won at Listed level and placed in another four black-type events.
Bred and raced by Dr Gene Tsoi and trained by Jason Bridgman in New Zealand and Peter Moody in Melbourne, King’s Rose was the 2011 New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year and added the Gr. 2 Memsie Stakes and Stocks Stakes along with the Gr. 1 Toorak Handicap, Emirates Stakes, Coolmore Classic and Queen of the Turf Stakes.
Sold to Japan as a broodmare prospect, she has two foals by Deep Impact and one by Lord Kanaloa.
