Derby hopes dashed for Tavistock Abbey

Tavistock Abbey is out of Gr. 1 Queensland Derby contention.

The New Zealand-bred son of Tavistock disappointed at the Gold Coast last week and the Anthony Freedman-trained gelding will now undergo a wind operation.

Tavistock Abbey, who is part-owned by breeders Rich Hill Stud, has won two of his seven starts including the VRC Derby Trial at Flemington in the spring.
