This is the new FIFA World Ranking

A few days after the conclusion of the Women’s World Cup finals in Australia and New Zealand, FIFA has published its updated world rankings. And while Germany slipped after the tournament’s debacle, other nations can look forward to higher rankings.

Number one in women’s international football is now Sweden. And the national team, which managed to win the bronze medal at the World Cup, managed to reach the top of the world for the first time in history. The world champions from Spain and the United States come in second and third.

The Spanish national team advanced by 49.56 points, while the United States, which previously topped the world rankings, fell two places.

England (4th) and France (5th) complete the top five.

For the first time, the German national team finds itself in sixth place, and thus outside the top of the standings. National coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg’s team lost the most points ever, losing a total of 73.89 points due to the premature end of the World Cup.
