These programs should be canceled today – “always on Sundays” affected

From July 20th to August 20th, the world is back in football fever. The FIFA Women’s World Cup also has an impact on regular TV programmes.

This time the FIFA Women’s World Cup will be held in Australia and New Zealand. It all started on July 20 in Auckland. A total of 64 matches will be played before the winners are crowned at Sydney Stadium on August 20.

The individual games will be broadcast on ARD and ZDF. For a month, public broadcasters’ programming will be dominated by sports. Viewers who aren’t interested in the Women’s World Cup may find it a little annoying.

Because they will have to do without the usual program on the first and second four weeks. Here you can see which popular formats will be canceled and where the game will be shown.

July 30 in the ARD

In addition to the Germany match, three more matches will be held. Morocco and South Korea lead and start their match at 6.30am. Pre-covering starts 15 minutes before the start. At 9 am there are two matches – Norway vs. the Philippines and Switzerland vs. New Zealand. The latter is shown only on TV. At 11:30 a.m., Germany’s women are back on the field. This time against Colombia.

  • 1:15 p.m.: “The Earth Experience”
  • 2:03 p.m.: Feature film

There is also a change in the second. So that viewers wouldn’t have to choose between “Fernsehgarten” and the Germany game, ZDF simply moved the show with Andrea Kiewel to the back. TV Garden begins July 30th at 1:35pm only.

Germany’s next match will take place on August 3. Then the German national team plays against South Korea. A total of 32 teams compete against each other in the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Due to the time difference between New Zealand and Australia, football matches start between 2 am and 2 pm German time.
