The March 23rd Movement formally withdraws from Kibumba, near Goma

On Friday, December 23, the M23 announced its withdrawal from Kibumba, a site twenty kilometers from Goma. A ceremony was organized to hand over control of this region to the EAC regional force, 10 days after an unprecedented meeting between the M23 and the FARDC and the EAC still in Kibumba.
