Outlander: You’ve never seen Jimmy like this before! Sam Heughan became a dwarf in “The Lord of the Rings.”
Anyone who previously only knew Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser from “Outlander” will be amazed by the new season of “Men in Kilts.” There the handsome Scot turns into a dwarf!
- Many Outlander fans are interested in Sam Heughan, the actor who plays Jamie Fraser.
- In the travel series “Men in Kilts” the stylish Scot now shows a completely different side.
- Heughan is almost unrecognizable in his troll disguise!
Of course, many Outlander fans know that Sam Heughan was born loving JRR Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings books. Even his name comes from Middle Earth, where his parents named him Samwise Gamgee, the kind-hearted companion of Frodo Baggins.
Not surprisingly, Heughan has always hoped to be part of a Tolkien film adaptation, whether it’s “The Hobbit” or Amazon Prime Video’s “The Rings of Power.” That dream didn’t quite come true, but at least Heughan was able to prove that he would fit nicely into Moriah’s face, at least visually!
Dwarves in kilts
For the second season of “Men in Kilts,” Heughan travels through New Zealand with his friend and fellow “Outlander” Graham McTavish. It’s no wonder the two stopped by Weta’s workshop to be transformed into real creatures from Middle Earth by makeup artists from the “Lord of the Rings” films.
In a clip from the final episode, we see Heughan as a dwarf with a wig, a bushy beard, and a large, potato-like nose. Mactavish, who has meanwhile transformed into a dwarf, is clearly amused and the two men excitedly examine their false ears.
In Germany, you can watch the first season of “Men in Kilts” on RTL+, with the second season expected to follow in 2024 at the latest. Then there will finally be a new version of “Outlander,” because Season 7 is currently on hiatus. By the way, the end of the series is already confirmed, in the eighth season announced for 2025 we have to say goodbye to Jamie and Claire.
