The second group stage match against Colombia may have gone differently than planned for the DFB women. With the 2-1 defeat, Alexandra Pope’s side missed out on an early place in the round of 16. And now it’s time for Thursday’s game against South Korea.
Broadcaster Laura Wontoura was also on hand at the stadium in Sydney. But this time not as a reporter in front of the camera, as usual. She was particularly enthusiastic as a spectator and supported the German team from the visitors’ stands. On her Instagram Story, the 34-year-old shared her feelings and surprises with a snarky caption.

Broadcaster Laura Wontoura is currently missing a Women’s World Cup match in Australia and New Zealand. And of course I also attended the match against Colombia. The Bremen native took her followers to her Instagram story.
In contrast to the match against Morocco, it seems that the broadcaster decided not to appear sporty in the shirt. She wore tight shorts and knee-high boots as she visited the stadium in Sydney. She paired it with a leather jacket.

The RTL broadcaster is enjoying the World Cup atmosphere as a fan
On Instagram, she showed herself full of anticipation on her way to the match. While for most football fans a visit to a stadium is a leisure activity, for sports presenter Laura Wontoura football mostly means work. That’s why she was clearly relieved and happy to be able to experience a match as a regular spectator. “The fangirls are back,” she exclaimed ecstatically.
When the score was still 0-0 after the first half, the broadcaster was optimistic: “I think we will definitely take the lead in the second half,” the 34-year-old said into her cell phone camera. Everything still seems possible.

The experienced broadcaster also commented on the match on Instagram in the second half. Laura Wontorra shared her excitement, especially when Alexandra Popp equalized first to make it 1-1.

Although she found nothing but positive words and gestures for the women in the national team, she probably couldn’t resist making fun of Colombia.. She shared a meme from the football magazine ‘FUMS’. It read: “Colombia shirts fit the philosophy of fair play.” Below you can see an image comparing the shirt pattern to the Galaxy pattern. He also says: “Out of this world.” The image is intended to indicate the attacking and often aggressive style of Colombian players.
Moderator Laura Wontoura commented on the post in her story: “Unfortunately, it’s true” – clearly a criticism of Colombian athletes.
But even the commentary couldn’t change the disappointing final result. The reporter clearly took the defeat sportingly. “It’s unfortunate, but we fought really well,” she wrote.. She will certainly be excited again for the German Cup match against South Korea in Brisbane on Thursday.
