New York: A leg was found in the subway and the police search for the body
A human leg was found along subway lines in New York over the weekend, she said on Tuesday, in a horrific incident that police in the major American city are investigating to find the body.
According to the New York Police Department (NYPD), its officers responded midday Saturday to a call reporting that “human remains” had been found along the four-lane track in the Bronx.
“Upon arrival, officers noticed a human leg,” police added in a statement.
Dramatic incidents in the metro
New York's giant subway system has been the scene of rare, but frequently publicized, dramatic incidents in recent years, such as those in which criminals pushed passengers onto the tracks or people suffering from mental disorders.
The authorities are also trying to raise awareness against the phenomenon of “subway surfers”, daredevils who film themselves on the roofs of a moving car to post startling videos on social networks, which has caused several fatal accidents in recent years.
Last week, a 34-year-old man died and five others were injured after a shooting on a platform at another station in the Bronx.
