The two New Zealand internationals will become Toshiba Brave Lobos players in Japan after the 2023 World Cup.
The Japanese club announced today, Monday, that New Zealand internationals Richie Muonga and Shannon Frisell will play in Japan for Toshiba Brave Lobos, after the 2023 Rugby World Cup (8 September – 28 October).
Opener Richie Muonga (28 years, 44 caps), who has already expressed his desire to play in Japan, will join the Lobos in early 2024, as will compatriot, third-row Shannon Frisell (28 years, 25 caps). ).

Muunga said in a statement that he will sign a three-year contract with the Japanese club, coached by former New Zealand captain Todd Blackadder.
When traveling abroad, Mo’unga and Frizell, who currently play in New Zealand for the Canterbury Crusaders and Otago Highlanders respectively, will not be eligible with the All Blacks under New Zealand rugby rules.
