Microsoft updates Surface Laptop Go and Surface Laptop Studio

In New York, Microsoft unveiled new features for Windows 11 – with a particular focus on artificial intelligence with Copilot – as well as its new range of Surface laptops.

Surface Laptop Studio 2 for creatives

Microsoft’s most powerful laptop, Surface Laptop Studio 2, is for content creators and professionals. It benefits from a significant update as it includes Intel’s 13th generation Core i7 processor instead of the 11th generation processor supported, depending on the configuration, by an Nvdia GPU with a GeForce RTX 4050 or 4060. For the first time, Laptop Studio will be able It can hold up to 64GB of RAM, with configurations starting at 16GB.

Microsoft also added a touch of AI by adding a VPU from Intel called Movidius. This allows, among other things, to take advantage of Studio effects in Windows 11 (background blur, eye contact, auto framing).

Connectivity has been revised with a full-size USB port, two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, and a microSD reader. This is why you must add a Microsoft Connect port for charging in addition to the socket port.

The display can’t be outdone, as the maximum brightness now stands at 500 cd/m2, which also allows it to be HDR compatible. The touchpad with haptic feedback has also been improved for more precision.

Surface Laptop Go 3 for digital nomads

For its part, the Surface Laptop Go 3 is undergoing a minor processor update with the move to Intel’s Core i5 1235U. On the other hand, the minimum configuration increases to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage instead of the 4GB/128GB of the Surface Laptop Go 2.

Microsoft thus announces 15 hours of autonomy and 88% more performance compared to the Go 2 laptop, something that we will not fail to verify during our tests in the laboratory.

The Surface Laptop Studio 2 will range from €2,239 to €4,159, while the Surface Laptop Go 3 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage starts at €899. All of these little guys will be available for sale starting October 3rd.
