Michelin is preparing to ride on the moon

Le Figaro Information – The team to which Michelin belongs has been selected by NASA to develop a lunar vehicle.

The Bibendum is preparing to go to the moon. Within four years, Moon Racer, a new lunar rover that looks like it came from a sci-fi movie, may walk on the moon with astronauts on board. It will explore its surface and bring back samples to its base that can be analyzed and who knows what water. This rover may be equipped with run-flat wheels developed and designed by world tire champion Michelin.

NASA announced Wednesday evening that the consortium led by Intuitive Machines, of which Michelin is a part, has been selected to continue development of this lunar rover with partners Boeing, Northrop Grumman and AVL. “It is a source of great pride for the Michelin teams“, says Christophe Morisseau, Director of Advanced Research of the Michelin Group.
