“Lord of the Rings” series – the director becomes part of the creative team

Swedish-French director Charlotte Brandstrom will be part of the creative team of Amazon’s original series The Lord of the Rings. She directs two episodes, based on the works of Spanish director J.A. Bayona and British-Chinese director Wayne Zhi Yip. The international band is currently filming in New Zealand.
International Emmy nominee Charlotte Brendstrom has directed more than 30 feature films, short series and movies of the week, including Julie – Agent of the King, episodes of Amazon original series The Man in the High Castle, Outlander, The Witcher’s Legacy and the Jupiter.
The Lord of the Rings for the first time brings to life the heroic legends of the legendary Second Age of Middle Earth history. The drama takes place thousands of years before the events narrated in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings by J.R. Tolkien. The series follows a group of familiar and new characters who, after a period of peace, face the long-frightening return of evil in Middle Earth. On their journey from the darkest depths of the Mist Mountains to the majestic forests of the Elves Capital Lyndon to the picturesque island kingdom of Nimmenor, they will make history.
The series is directed by modelers and executive producers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay; Additionally, executive producers support Lindsay Weber, Callum Green, JA Baiona, Belen Atienza, Justin Duple, Jason Cahill, Jennifer Hutchison, Bruce Richmond, Sharon Tale Iguadu, co-executive producer Wayne Che Yip, and producer Christopher Newman.
