James Cameron films ‘The Abyss’, ‘True Lies’ and ‘Aliens’ officially confirmed in the USA on Ultra HD Blu-ray starting March 2024 – Update

The long wait will end soon! In the United States of America, Walt Disney Home Entertainment Studios revealed in an official announcement that a wave of James Cameron films will be presented to us soon. The American company has officially confirmed that the “Ultimate Collector’s Editions” will be released in the United States on March 12, 2024. “true lies” (Canada, USA 1994), “the abyss” (USA 1989) and “Aliens” (USA 1986) will be released for the first time in 4K on Ultra HD Blu-ray. All three home theater products will feature 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and Digital Code in the US. The purely digital 4K evaluation will take place as early as December 2023. You can also look forward to a new version of “Avatar: Water Road” (New Zealand, USA 2022) with new additional material and a new assessment of “Avatar – Departing for Pandora” (New Zealand, USA 2009) with all three film releases on Ultra HD Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray and on 4Ksteelbook (Best Buy exclusive). The “Avatar” editions will appear in US stores on December 19, 2023.

In addition to the new and very extensive bonus material, which will be given to all the above-mentioned titles (except “Aliens”), the films will be released in 4K on 100GB discs with Dolby Atmos sound in English and with Dolby Vision. Both “The Abyss” and “Aliens” will have both theatrical and special releases. Each HD version of the films will feature DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 English audio, just like the two expanded film versions of “Avatar: A Journey to Pandora.” As an entry into this 4K wave, feature films directed by James Cameron will be released later this year “Titanic” (USA 1997). The film will also be shown in Germany from December 15. It will be available on Ultra HD Blu-ray. We therefore expect all the other films mentioned above to be released immediately in German stores and we will of course keep you updated with the final release dates and details of the German products.
