Is the new Splinter Cell being teased by Ubisoft Totonto for an upcoming announcement? | X-Box

The publisher recently announced the Ubisoft Summer 2024 conference and the meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 10, 2024, definitely around 6pm. Ubisoft hasn't revealed the program yet, but between 20 years of Far Cry and the many projects in the pipeline, there should be a lot to do. What if it's time to lift the veil on the new version of Splinter Cell?

Splinter Cell has just debuted on Ubisoft Toronto Networks

Splincer Cell is an old license from Ubisoft that saw the light of day on the first Xbox in November 2002. We play as Sam Fisher, an elite agent of the Echelon 3 group, a secret entity of the National Security Agency (National Security Agency).

Specializing in stealth with an array of cutting-edge technological gadgets, Sam Fisher quickly made a name for himself in video games and after seven episodes, the license has given no sign of life since Splinter Cell BlackList (read test), which was released in 2013.

After being requested by fans for a while, Splinter Cell will definitely be back. It was promised by the president of Ubisoft in 2018 and became official in December 2021 in the form of a remake.

Ubisoft Totonto has also updated its profile picture with the studio's name on a blurry green background which immediately brings to mind the Splinter Cell license as well.

Splinter Cell Remake will go back to the roots of the first game

Ubisoft has been completely silent about the new Splinter Cell, but we know that it was developed using the Snowdrop engine, the same engine used in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora from Massive Entertainment, but also in the Star Wars game from the same studio. Ubisoft says it wants to retain “the spirit of the first games” while reshaping the story “for a modern audience.”

Using the first Splinter Cell game as a foundation, we're rewriting the story and updating it for a modern audience. We want to maintain the spirit and themes of the original game while exploring our characters and the world to make it more authentic and believable.

Ubisoft explained that the game has been redesigned from the ground up and that some design elements will be reworked to match players' expectations.

Every square inch is part of a choice, directly advances a choice, or has direct consequences. This gameplay intensity is at the forefront of Splinter Cell, and will be very, very important to us.
