Elected officials and the community agree on a method agreement

The meeting between elected officials and the group of organizations struggling with the economic and social health crisis in Guadeloupe lasted 15 hours and ended with the signing of a method agreement around 1 am, thus kicking off the first negotiations on Tuesday.


The evening was long, with twists and turns, but also with statements in stages that prove the harshness of the discussions that did not stop despite everything.
Demonstrate the determination of each party to the other on each side of the table at the Cité des Métiers in Raizet, to achieve this agreement on the method.

Shortly after 1 am, a joint signing of the method agreement that was drawn up during these discussions is announced.

Therefore, negotiations will begin on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, on thematic workshops for conclusions at the end of 2021.
The two parties agreed to organize the negotiations in two phases

The first stage will allow processing of urgent claims and the second stage will address the processing of other points on the platform, always in the presence of the state. The signatories chose about fifteen topics, including health, youth, family, dear life, etc.

Thus, the path to this agreement will not be clear. But for elected officials, it was important to reach such an agreement. It shows anyway that Guadeloupe can align in Guadeloupe’s favour.
