All important information about the International Beach Volleyball Championship in Barfi

The Coop Beach 2021 tour will stop in Basel from July 17-20. As in previous years, the game will be played at Barfüsserplatz. There are also two local contenders to win.

Starting this weekend, the Coop Beach Tour will return in Barfi for four days.

After the first two locations in Locarno and Kloten, the 2021 Coop Beach Tour comes to Basel from July 17-20. The games are held downtown at Barfüsserplatz. This event will be especially special for local Florian Breer and Yves Haussener. Florian Brier and partner Marco Kratiger will be the favorites in the tournament after winning in Kloten. But also Basler player Yves Hosner wants to have an opinion with his teammate Quentin Mitral on the win.

Brothers from New Zealand – new women’s teams

Not only the local duo can be seen among the men, but also the duo O’Dea from New Zealand. Brothers Sam and Ben O’Dea are familiar faces on the beach volleyball tour. Together, they were the first team from New Zealand to win a bronze medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Queensland, Australia.

There are some new compositions in the painting of women. Switzerland’s Esmeé Böbner and Anna Lutz of Team B Swiss volleyball play together. There is also an international women’s duo. Switzerland’s Laura Calori plays Germany’s Leonie Kurtzinger. Both were already able to impress in the Coop Beach Tour 2021. Kurtzinger came in second at Locarno while Calori finished third in Kloten. The tournament kicks off in Basel on Saturday 17 July at 6:00 pm with the women’s qualification.

Free entry and good atmosphere

Mike Schalchley, Managing Director and owner of the organizing company TIT-PIT GmbH, is looking forward to the third leg of the Coop Beach Tour 2021 in Basel. In a press release that can be quoted as follows: “After a successful start in Locarno and Kloten, we came to Basel full of expectations. The games will delight the audience.”

Entry to the tournament is free on all tournament days. Food and support program are also provided. DJ and subwoofer will add more spice to your gaming entertainment.
