The New Zealander names her three children after heavy metal bands

It appears that a New Zealand mother named three of her children after the heavy metal bands Metallica, Slayer and Pantera. The news was published by New Zealand director David Farrer, who wrote about it in his book personal newsletter mentioned. He also wrote on Twitter that the woman told him, “It’s not easy raising three of the heaviest bands.”

David Farrer – who directed, among other things, the Netflix documentary series “Dark Tourist” – also stated that he had seen the birth certificates of the three children and that the baby named Metallica was the middle name “…And Justice for All” – the title of Metallica’s 1998 album .

New Zealand does not limit the label

Farrer also spoke to Jeff Montgomery of the New Zealand Home Office about this unusual name. He said there were “no restrictions on naming children with bands or albums,” “so long as the word used is not generally perceived as offensive or bears no resemblance to an official rank or title.”

David Farrier also explained via Twitter that the mom, in addition to metal music, also has a particular preference for bows. Metallica, Slayer, and Pantera have yet to respond to the children they have named after. Farrer now appeals to bands: “Obviously, this metal mom (and her kids) deserves free metal gigs for life.”
