World Rugby League – New Zealand and Australia want to meet instead of the World Cup – Rugby League
A new element in the event that the two countries withdraw, and they are pressing to face each other in a test match while the World Cup is held without them.
Australia and New Zealand have no doubts. Indeed, while they have just announced their withdrawal from the World Cup by requesting a postponement, coaches Mal Mininga and Michael Maguire are seeking to face each other in a test match during the event. A provocation to IRL which indicated that penalties and legal action would be initiated if a match occurred. However, the two coaches still hope to postpone the event to 2022 but the English are unlikely to bear the cost of the postponement, estimated at 48 million dollars.
At the moment, the organizers and the World Cup are looking for the best solution, but this announcement further complicates relations between the two movers and the rest of the world.
So Mal Mininga and Michael Maguire want international rugby at the end of the year, which means Australia can play New Zealand during the World Cup.
It’s time to step back, Flanders. I sadly got this error. https://t.co/onPo9zIOPh
