World Cup: Germany in preparation with Canada, China and New Zealand
On the way to the World Cup in Asia, the German national team will face strong opponents at the Super Cup in Hamburg.
On August 12 and 13, Canada and its NBA players China and New Zealand will compete with Germany in the traditional Hamburg tournament, the German Federation announced. Germany will meet China in the semi-finals, and Canada will play New Zealand on Saturday, August 12. The final will then take place on Sunday 13 August.
“We want to build on last year and take another step forward. All the players showed great will and made a lot of sacrifices,” said German-Canadian coach Gordon Herbert. “We are in the second year of a three-year cycle and the Super Cup is a very good test on the way to the Cup FIBA World Basketball. »
After the Super Cup in Hamburg, Germany will play Greece (August 19) and the United States, the World Cup favorites (August 20), in Abu Dhabi.
