World Cup 2023 (W): South Africa’s first training session in New Zealand

South Africa completed its first training course on New Zealand soil. Bayana Bayana held this session on the night of Sunday to Monday. The group is preparing for the 2023 Women’s World Cup with a friendly duel on the horizon.

The South African delegation arrived in two batches in New Zealand for reasons of insufficient space. So the team started practicing in the gym for the past two days. But on the night of Sunday to Monday, the South African players had their first training session. They worked on ball possession, handling and positioning in the game.

South Africa’s goal is to be fully fit ahead of the 2023 Women’s World Cup. That’s why the players will have two training sessions per day (morning and evening). South African players know very well that they are being watched closely by opponents, because they are the champions of Africa.
