Women’s World Cup 2023: This is the very original ball in the competition
The official ball for the 2023 Women’s World Cup, which will be held in Australia and New Zealand, was unveiled on Tuesday.
Adidas on Tuesday presented the official ball for Women’s World Cup 2023which will be held in Australia and New Zealand.
It’s called Oceaunz and it will walk the lawns of the ninth Women’s World Cup from July 20 to August 20. This balloon is decorated with blue and green patterns on a pearly white background.
Its design is inspired by the unique landscape of Australia, with nods to the high mountains of New Zealand and the ties that unite Australia and the Indian Ocean.
Oceaunz also highlights symbols inspired by the cultures of New Zealand and Australia as well as the initials of these two countries, in order to celebrate the closeness between the two countries that are preparing to host this extraordinary tournament together. The Australian icons are the work of Cherney Sutton, a famous local artist, and the ones representing New Zealand were designed by Kiwi artist Fiona Collis.
In terms of technical characteristics, it is clear that the ball is connected and transmits accurate data that the referees and their assistants can use in real time. As part of FIFA’s semi-automated offside detection technology, AI uses data captured by innovative connected ball technology and combines it with the players’ real-time location in order to make it easier for players to work.
