WhatsApp: If you have one of these 49 phones, the app won’t work anymore in 2023, here’s the list

From January 1, 2023, the WhatsApp mobile app will no longer be compatible with smartphones running certain older versions of iOS and Android. Rest assured, there is still a slight chance of infection.

In a few days, WhatsApp will only be compatible with iPhones running iOS 12 (or any other newer version) and devices running Android Jelly Bean (4.1 and later). This includes not only many models like the iPhone 5 and 5c but also the Samsung Galaxy S2 and S3 mini, just to name the most popular ones.

Regarding iPhones, WhatsApp will only be supported by devices running iOS 12. In fact, owners of iPhone 5, or any other model released before, will not be able to stop using the app soon.

On the Android smartphone side, it will be necessary to have an equivalent or greater version of Android 4.1 to be able to continue enjoying WhatsApp. In this case, only the old supermodels find themselves being punished, all of whom were released from nearly 10 years ago.

“To keep up with the latest technological developments, we regularly stop supporting older operating systems to dedicate our resources to supporting the latest ones,” WhatsApp explains.

In any case, whatever your smartphone is, don’t forget to update its operating system, to take advantage of the latest features offered by WhatsApp, with the best possible level of security.
