Last weekend’s Pukekohe abandonment has handed Tomelilla an unexpected opportunity to double her black-type tally in Saturday’s $50,000 Listed Ag Challenge Stakes at Wanganui. The Tavistock mare, whose owners Greg Jones and Maryanne Baker nearly parted with her at the Karaka May Sale earlier this month, reached the pinnacle of her career to date with an emphatic last-start win in the Gr. 3 Rotorua Stakes. “We thought we might as well chase a bit more black print.”…
