Thomas Detry, 54th in the Ras Al Khaimah Classic, beat Ryan Fox

(Balga) Thomas Detry finished 54th in the Ras Al Khaimah Classic, one of DP World’s $2 million rounds of golf held at Al Hamra Course in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, at the end of the fourth and final round on Sunday. The win went to New Zealander Ryan Fox.

Detri returned a final card of 69, three below par, after six sparrows, including five in a row between the fourth and eighth holes, and three bogeys. He moved up five places to 54th, for a total of 280, eight below par. A solid leader with 6 strokes forward before the last lap, Fox wasn’t shaken. The 35-year-old New Zealander handed the final three-under-five card which featured five birds and two ghosts. A total of 266, 22 under par, allows him to win by five strokes, ahead of England’s Ross Fisher. The trio share third place with six strokes: Germany’s Hurley Long, South African Zander Lombard and Spain’s Pablo Larzabal. This is Fox’s second success on the DP World Tour, formerly known as the European Tour. This was the second division championship being held in Ras Al Khaimah, which filled the void left in the schedule with the postponement later in the Qatar Masters season. Last week, Dietre distinguished himself on the same track with a ninth place finish, his best result at the start of the season. Dan Nikolai Hoggard won. (Belga)
