New Zealand, Namibia and Norway – Speakers at the Göttingen Wanderlust Festival took visitors to all of these places for the weekend. But one lecture caused an uproar: Some demonstrators protested in front of the lecture hall doors over a report on a trip to Iran.
Göttingen. Visitors to the 18th Göttingen Wanderlust Festival in the university’s central auditorium building were able to be transported away to very different corners of the world over the weekend. In numerous lectures, photographers, journalists and other travelers talked about their travels, showed photos and videos. One of the lectures aroused particular controversy: in front of the doors of the auditorium in which the lecture on Iran was given, a small group demonstrated against the decision to include this lecture in the programme.
