Wellington The cast of “Avatar 2” has been given special permission to travel to New Zealand to begin filming the sequel to the sci-fi saga. The country’s borders are actually closed to foreigners due to the global coronavirus pandemic. Posting a photo on Instagram, producer John Landau wrote: “Arrived in New Zealand. Our government-supervised 14-day self-isolation begins.” The film crew rented a hotel in Wellington.

“Avatar 2” will be in cinemas at the end of 2021
Director James Cameron brought actors such as Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Sigourney Weaver in front of the camera to complement his 3D fantasy scene “Avatar – Aufbruch nach Pandora” (2009). Cameron began producing four “Avatar” films simultaneously in 2017. Planned film releases were often postponed. According to previous information, “Avatar 2” is supposed to be released in cinemas at the end of 2021, with other sequels to be shown in 2023, 2025 and 2027.
