He organized his first campaign rally for the 2024 election. From Waco, Texas, on Saturday, March 25, Donald Trump brushed aside the possible indictment against him. “The New York District Attorney, under the auspices and direction of the ‘Circle of Injustice’ in Washington, D.C., has been investigating me for something that is neither a felony nor a misdemeanor.”he told his followers. Justice is seeking to determine whether the former US president was guilty of misrepresentation, offense or breach of campaign finance laws, a criminal offense, by paying a pornographic actress.

The meeting also took place in a very symbolic place. The Texas city was indeed the scene, 30 years ago, of a fatal assault against a cult opposed to federal authority. In the spring of 1993, the world is suspended for 51 days due to an FBI siege of a farmhouse where armed followers of guru David Koresh have barricaded themselves. 76 members of the cult, including 20 children, were found dead after the farm fire. Four police officers were also killed. Donald Trump’s campaign team did not respond to requests from AFP about choosing Waco to meet.
