Pan Pac is New Zealand’s leading specialist in sustainable Pinus Radiata (Monterey Pine) products. As a general supplier, the Austrian family company Springer will work with local partners to implement a new heavy-duty earthquake-resistant saw feeder at the Pan Pac site in Whirinaki (Hawk Bay). The investment is approximately 13 million New Zealand dollars (about 7.8 million euros).

“The investment in revamping the saw feeder, originally installed in the early 1980s, underlines the continuing commitment of OJI Holdings, the shareholder of Pan Pac.” Tony Clifford, Managing Director of Pan Pac, said, “These strategic investments have helped solidify the Pan site. Pac as New Zealand’s largest exporter of premium quality optically sawn timber for the entire Asia region. ”In order to reduce downtime, system integration as well as project start-up and handover are planned within the regular plant shutdown at the end of 2022.
