Sportfreunde Stiller gives an impromptu concert in Freiburg – but the police get involved

Sportfreunde Stiller was arrested by police authorities Freiburg Spoil an impromptu appearance in the pedestrian area. The band had set up in Old Town with portable drums, guitars and amplifiers. Once the first song, “A Compliment,” was played, two uniformed city officers stepped in and banned the mini-concert, as evidenced by an Instagram video. Many media reported about it.
The band confirmed the incident that occurred the day before on Thursday and said in writing: “The district has been provided with a really friendly note that there are a number of places in the city center of Freiburg where you can play without warning in such a way. In this respect, it was also our ignorance that led to this amicable outage.”
At first, the city of Freiburg did not respond to any request. Sportfreund Stiller said they were a little disappointed when the authorities got involved. “Why, after two years of lockdown and in the face of fun together, why don’t we close our eyes for a moment?” they asked. (bak/dpa)
