Sixth edition of De Visu, Contemporary Art in Schools space

In the current context, culture is more than ever a priority and a necessity. Artistic and cultural education remains a powerful lever for combating inequalities of access to culture, inequalities that are particularly important in the field of contemporary creativity: presence in works is not evident enough for everyone and we know the weight of geographical, but also social, economic and mental barriers that remain impassable. For many.

The Ministry of Culture has placed the issue of transportation and democratization at the core of its missions; Together with the Ministry of National Education, it holds the ambitious goal of popularizing artistic and cultural education. To do this, it is necessary that the increased efforts be joint, thanks to partnerships with public actors, as close as possible to the citizens.

Renewed partnership with the Academic Region and the Normandy Region for this purpose The sixth edition of the regional system DE VISU illustrates this again.

All works shown at the Abbaye de Jumièges, from 2 to 31 December 2022, aim to take their full place in schools and higher education. Thus each artist will have the opportunity to live this privileged moment of meeting the audience: pupils and students, of course, but also the educational community. They will have the opportunity to demonstrate and understand their unique thinking, creative process, methods and techniques.
