Come and spend the 2021 Science Festival at the Arab World Institute, the weekend of October 2 and 3, 2021! For this occasion, the institute has prepared a small program that is freely available to all family members.
Like every year, the Science Festival Come back to discover as many, small and large, all the secrets and mysteries Sciences. This yearArab World Institute invites you to experience the Fête de la Science, within it, and Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 October 2021.

Detailed program of the Science Festival at the Arab World Institute:
- Saturday and Sunday 11:30 a.m. : Guided tour showing Arabic science and astrolabe
Discovering the golden age of Arabic science through the manuscripts and scientific instruments of the Museum, in particular its very beautiful collection of astrolabes, which young participants understand the process through a demonstration.
Teens and adults - Saturday at 3 pm : Arabic Numerals Workshop
As you browse through the museum’s collections, you will discover why Arabs took an early and very active interest in mathematics. How did scientists develop arithmetic or numerology by adopting the Indian notation of numbers and in particular zero. After the visit we move on to the exercise: calculations of the different forms of numbering positions in the history of mathematics.
