Samsung and Spark launched the 5G network in New Zealand – Samsung’s global newsroom

To boost 5G, Samsung launched its first 5G in New Zealand, introducing a new wave of rich and immersive services to Spark users

Samsung Electronics and Spark New Zealand today announced the launch of a 5G network in Christchurch, the most populous city on the South Island of New Zealand. The launch marks the country’s first new network provider in more than a decade and marks the first Samsung network installation in New Zealand.

Through this collaboration, Samsung and Spark are empowering more users in New Zealand to benefit from lightning-fast and low-latency 5G connectivity, and to help business customers take advantage of innovative services. With technology partners like Samsung, Spark pursues its goal of helping New Zealanders thrive in a digital world by expanding access to 5G to generate new economic, educational and societal benefits.

Using advanced 3D beamforming technology, Samsung’s massive MIMO radio also provides improved capacity and effectively extends network coverage.
