SailGP. New Zealand wins the ninth round of the season, and France takes second place
The French were unable to beat the New Zealanders during round nine (of thirteen) of the SailGP season, on the night of Saturday 23 March to Sunday 24 March. They ranked second, ahead of Canada, and continued their rise in the overall standings by finishing fourth.

Quentin Delapierre and the Frenchman successfully achieved the main goal at SailGP, on the night of Saturday, March 23 to Sunday, March 24. After the opening round was canceled due to dolphins, the SailGP sailboats were able to compete for the win overnight during the second round. The Blues wanted to continue their rise in the overall standings, and achieved this by finishing second in New Zealand for round nine (of thirteen) of the season.
France rose to fourth place in the general classification
They were defeated by the New Zealanders, who finished first in the overall standings from Australia, with 68 points to 59. France rose to fourth place (54), a small point ahead of Spain (55).
This is New Zealand’s fourth win in a SailGP event this season. “We found ourselves in a difficult situation in the last fleet race to reach the final and we stayed on track and made a good start and then a clean race.”New Zealand captain Blair Tuck said.
