Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney: A mini-Beatles reunion for one song
Call it a mini-reunion: Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney have collaborated on a new song on Starr’s EP “Rewind Forward.”
Ringo Starr (83) and Paul McCartney (81) will appear together on the former Beatles drummer’s new record.
The EP “Rewind Forward” will be released on October 13 and contains four new songs. This includes the single “Feeling the Sunlight”, which was created in collaboration with Starr’s former bandmates.
The meaning behind “rewind forward”
The EP’s title, as well as the name of the first single “Rewind Forward,” which will be released Friday, have special meaning for Starr: “‘Rewind Forward’ came to me out of the blue — it’s just one of those lines like ‘Hard Day’s Night,'” he explained in A statement that for him this means that sometimes you have to go back if you want to move forward. The other two tracks on the four-song EP are “Shadows on the Wall” and “Miss Jean”.
Other musicians and old friends who can be heard on the EP alongside McCartney include Steve Lukather (65), Benmont Tench (69), Mike Campbell (73), Ian Hunter (84), Joe Walsh (75) and Kip Lennon (63). . .
