Revolutions – an exciting journey through New Zealand …
Set in New Zealand’s South Island, Revolutions follows Austrian mountain biker Peter Kaiser as he explores some famous and hidden mountain bike spots, all from his unique perspective on a mountain bike.
The film, titled “Revolutions,” plays as a theme, metaphor, and motive for the production method. Using circular camera movements and circular editing, it shows examples of rotation – the movement of an object in a circular or elliptical path around its axis or center. Also, it’s the title of an ever-evolving project with a few snags along the way.
“Doing the same thing over and over again always seemed the most boring thing to me. I now have the feeling that revolutions are repetitive in that sense, but they always come with a different result. Riding a bike is always the same movement at first, but it always takes me to different and beautiful places in Nature. It can be the same stunt I do over and over again, yet never feel quite the same. It can be the same roll of film in my camera, yet each photo tells a different story. I think it’s these ever-changing experiences that keep me spinning These two passions. I love the variety of bikes and cameras available to me. This video showcases my passion for cycling and the creative connection I developed through it.” – Peter Kaiser
