REPLACED sees its release pushed back again to 2024 on Xbox and PC | Xbox One

Thunderful Games just published financial results for the fiscal quarter ending in June, and took the opportunity to delay the release of a somewhat anticipated Xbox game.

A replacement will finally arrive later

Thunderful Games is doing well, even very well since the last quarter was an opportunity for the company to generate sales of SEK 24.8 million, or roughly €60 million. Even better, operating profit (EBIT) increased by 147.1%, which means the company’s margin is moving faster.

The publisher and developer also specifies that the positive contribution of the quarter was largely attributable to Planet of Lana as well as an agreement with the Viewfinder game platform. We believe the latter is PlayStation as the title has not yet been announced on Xbox.

For its part, Microsoft has partnered with Thunderful Games on REPLACED, an action game in a cyberpunk setting that was announced in 2021. But the game appears to have been delayed again since its release now in 2024, without further details.

The game was already slated for release in 2022 and then again in 2023, but it’s possible that Belarus-based Sad Cat Studios will continue to be affected by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Thus, REPLACED will be available in 2024 exclusively on Xbox and PC. It will be released directly into Xbox Game Pass.
