This is one of the main events of Metropolis, in the same way as the Lumière Festival: the Nuits de Fourvière 2023 program will be revealed to the press on March 9th. What are the first indiscretions?

After directing the cultural event for nearly two decades, Dominique Delorme is preparing to reveal the long-awaited program for this 2023 edition for the last time. From next year, it will be the duo Emmanuel Durand and Vincent Anglide.

Take care of yourself from May 31 to July 28 in the famous Old Theatre, but also in other places.

Journalists will gather at 11 a.m. on March 9 at the Comedy Odeon Theater for a press conference detailing several artistic proposals.

All disciplines will be represented, from theater to music. Of course, the names of the main titles are the most expected.

Who will succeed Juliette Armani or Tartuffe?

Nuits de Fourvière 2023: Zazie, Michel Polnareff, Benjamin Biolay, Florence Foresti and Benjamin Millepied are projected at the Roman Theater

Many names have already been nominated by: Florence Foresti with her show Boys, Boys Boys, Benjamin Biolay, Zazie, Michel Polnareff and Benjamin Millepied.

For the rest, we can expect many big names from the French scene or the discoveries of recent years.

Last year, the event gathered 153,000 spectators for 178 performances, including 71 plays, 50 circuses, 46 music and 11 dances.

The box office will open on Wednesday 15 March at 12 noon.

The poster for the 2023 edition was drawn by New Zealand photographer Todd Anthony, who shared a 2019 hike in Bolivia with “Cholitas Escaladoras”. These Aymara Amerindian women, formerly cooks and porters for touring expeditions, have taken to the peaks in recent years…and now they’re counting the highest points of the Andean Cordillera in their favour.
