New Zealand’s record medals at the Tokyo Olympics

The Tokyo Olympics ended less than a week ago and our second favorite, New Zealand, has done well in its competitions with no less than 20 medals. A new record number of medals at the Summer Olympics for New Zealanders.

For comparison, France has returned 33 medals, 10 of which are gold. Our great nation’s mixed record has been kept through team sports.

the New Zealand Won the gold medal in women’s rugby vs. France With a 26-12 victory in the final. Water sports, which are very popular in New Zealand, also won 6 more gold medals: 3 in canoe (2 medals for L. Carrington) and 3 in rowing.

silver medals (6)

Rowing won two additional silver medals. New Zealand also won silver in cycling (two medals), sailing (1 medal), and men’s rugby sevens (1 medal, losing to the top and neighbour’s finalists, Fiji).

Bronze Medals (7)

New Zealand won two bronze medals in shot put (male and female), one bronze in heavyweight boxing, one in women’s golf, men’s doubles in tennis, gymnastics, and finally in the triathlon event.
