Irish rugby union revealed details of its New Zealand tour this summer on Tuesday. Three matches will be on the list.

While France’s 15th goes to Japan, England will go to Australia and Wales will challenge South Africa, and Ireland will go to New Zealand for its 2022 summer tour, the Irish Federation revealed the details on Tuesday. The XV of Clover will face the All Blacks on July 2 in Auckland (Eden Park, where New Zealand is still at 46 straight wins), July 9 in Dunedin and July 16 in Wellington. Matches start at 7:05 pm, French time. Due to the coronavirus epidemic, Ireland, like other countries in the Northern Hemisphere, had to cancel the last two summer tours, when it was due to visit Australia in 2020 and Fiji in 2021. So 2022 will be an opportunity for XV of Clover to play their first tour since 2018, winning two out of their three matches in Australia.

Two teams in the best 4 countries in the world

This confrontation against the blacks promises to be of a very high level, between the teams ranked No. 3 and No. 4 in the rugby world rankings. Their last meeting dates back to last November, when Ireland won brilliantly 29-20 at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, and the last summer round in 2012, when the Blacks won all three matches. Andy Farrell’s men stay in the 6 Nations very well, losing just one game, to France (30-24), and finishing second., while Ian Foster’s men also suffered their latest defeat to France, in the famous 40-25 at the Stade de France last November. A year and a half before the World Cup, this tour should allow us to learn some important lessons.
